Increasingly, litigation is no longer seen as the sole recourse to clients seeking legal remedies to protect or defend their claims/rights and other business interests. The firm is responsive to the need of clients to seek alternative means of dispute resolution such as mediation, arbitration (both domestic and international), negotiation and conciliation.  Several members of the firm have expertise in international and institutional arbitrations with the LCIA, ICC, DIFC, and UNCITRAL.

The Firm’spatron, Mr. K K Sharma has been a Counsel in numerous international and domestic arbitration, both ad-hoc and institutional. A lifetime member of the Indian Council of Arbitration (IAC), before taking on his role as a Senior Advocate, Mr. Sharma had been instrumental in not only acting as Counsel in arbitrations across various sectors such as Energy, Aviation, Power and general commercial matters but also training a number of young lawyers in this field. Mr. Sharma has also served as a member of the LCIA and is currently impanelled by the Vienna International Arbitration Centre  (VIAC) as an Arbitrator.

The Firm’s tax advice covers transactional and advisory work both in India and globally; including general corporate and commercial tax matters, indirect tax, all types of asset based debt financing, equity capital markets, general advice and reviews on liability on account of VAT and customs duty and compliance procedures and dispute resolution with fiscal authorities in tribunal hearings.

The relevance of adequate IP protection cannot be overstated in a competitive marketplace.

The firm’s intellectual property practice covers all aspects of IP Law, including patents, copyrights, designs, trade marks, performing rights and licensing disputes. The firm particularly has proficiency in handling litigation relating to IP rights and members have also previously argued in cases at the World Intellectual Property Organizations (WIPO) and its tribunal hearings. Recently, the Firm successfully represented a group of small business owners(SBOs) and a SME against a Forbes 500 company in a significant trademark infringement battle.
